Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) has welcomed shoppers to its latest charity shop in Long Eaton, offering the community another way to support the charity’s vital, lifesaving work.

The store opened its doors on Friday 9 January and features a wide selection of pre-loved clothing and homeware in a bright, boutique-style space. Since launching, the shop has already received a warm response from both local residents and visitors.

The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by long-standing Long Eaton resident Mr Kamlesh Lakhani.

Mr Lakhani has lived in the town for more than 40 years and dedicated 37 years to serving the local community as an optometrist. Since retiring, he has remained actively involved in supporting local initiatives and charitable causes.

Retail Area Manager, Lee Corkhill, said: “We’re really pleased to be bringing Your Local Air Ambulance to Long Eaton and becoming part of the local High Street. Our charity shops play an important role in helping fund our lifesaving missions, and it’s great to see that support continuing into the New Year.”

“Every purchase made in store helps our helicopters and crews reach patients quickly and deliver advanced medical care when it matters most.”

The Long Eaton shop is also welcoming donations of good-quality items and is currently looking for volunteers to support the store.

Shop address:

  • 49 High Street, Long Eaton, NG10 1HZ

The store is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

Your Local Air Ambulance operates as part of The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS). The charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations and community support. Each YLAA mission costs around £2,300, with funds raised through charity shops helping the service continue operating across five counties.
