Colleagues at DHL Aviation East Midlands Airport are celebrating an incredible long-standing relationship with The Air Ambulance Service, having supported the charity through regular fundraising for many years.

The team has been fundraising in aid of the charity since 2008, with raffles and workplace activities helping to raise approximately £20,000 over the years. Their first recorded gift was made on 8 May 2008 for £1,500, and since then they have made 206 gifts in support of our lifesaving work.

A recent visit to DHL Aviation at East Midlands Airport provided an opportunity to thank Shirley and Diane, who have played an important role in keeping the fundraising going year after year. Shirley has been involved from the very beginning, helping to build a lasting connection between DHL colleagues and the charity.

Support from local businesses and workplace teams is vital to The Air Ambulance Service. The charity receives no government funding for its daily missions and relies on donations, fundraising and community partnerships to keep its crews flying and responding to people in urgent need.

Every pound raised contributes to funding specialist critical care across the region. Whether through small regular activities or larger fundraising moments, the commitment shown by DHL Aviation colleagues is a powerful example of how workplace fundraising can create a lasting impact over time.
