A quick response 
to save Penny’s life
Last summer, a holiday to Whitby turned into a medical emergency for Penny, a 19-month-old toddler who had already faced a life-changing battle before. Less than a year earlier, at just 8 months old, Penny had undergone a lifesaving liver transplant at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. But as her family gathered for a relaxing summer break, Penny’s health suddenly took a turn for the worse.

Helimed54 were called to attend a medical incident at 13.25pm and were on scene at 13.45pm. Patient had collapsed behind wheel and was assessed and treated before being escorted to hospital for further care.
Helimed53 were called to attend a cardiac arrest at 17.00pm and were on scene at 17.30pm. Patient was assessed on scene and conveyed to hospital by land.
Medic54 were called to attend a fall at 15.14pm and were on scene at 15.28pm. Our crew assisted EMAS with analgesia and extrication of patient, before leaving with other service for further care.
Helimed54 were called to attend an RTC at 7.21am and were on scene at 7.47am. Motorcyclist suffered injuries with following a collision. Treated by crew and transferred to hospital for further care.
Helimed53 were called to attend an industrial incident at 14.10pm and were on scene at 14.21pm. Patient was assessed and transferred to hospital by land crews after suffering facial burns.
G-PICU worked alongside STRS to transfer a patient from the South to a specialist hospital in 1hr 10mins. This journey by land ambulance would have taken 4 hours.
Helimed54 were called to attend a medical incident at 16.01pm and were on scene at 16.28pm. Patient suffered cardiac arrest and was resuscitated on scene before being conveyed to hospital by land.
Medic54 were called to attend a fall at 20.44pm and were on scene at 21.02pm. Patient had fallen down a flight of stairs and suffered head injury. Assisted EMAS and left with service for further care.
Helimed53 were called to attend an incident at 21.09pm and were on scene at 21.20pm. Assisted WMAS with agitated patient and conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.
Helimed53 were called to attend an assault at 16.34pm and were on scene at 16.44pm. Involved 2x patients who required assessment and critical care conveyance. One of the patients was conveyed to hospital with TAAS by land.
Helimed53 were called to attend an RTC at 8.32am and were on scene at 8.43am. Two vehicle collision with patient suffering minor injuries. Left with other services.
Helimed53 were called to attend an RTC at 12.51pm and were on scene at 12.58pm. Patient was a cyclist who suffered minor injuries and required onward conveyance to hospital for assessment and treatment.
