Oscar’s Story
Eight-month-old Oscar had only had a sniffle, but then during the night he began to cough so hard, he was gasping for breath.
At hospital, his condition worsened. Diagnosed with bronchiolitis and a chest infection, Oscar was sedated and placed on a ventilator. He urgently needed specialist care in London.
The National Children’s Air Ambulance completed his transfer in 30 minutes. Anjali, Oscar’s mum, said
I was scared about Oscar flying, but he was already at the hospital receiving treatment before we even got out of Kent.
After three days of specialist care, Oscar was taken off the ventilator. Soon afterwards, he was able to return home.

Anjali concluded,
I cannot believe that the National Children’s Air Ambulance is not government funded. We will be forever grateful to everyone involved.
