A BRIGHT FUTURE MADE POSSIBLE BY you

I’d love to be a paramedic one day

– Harry

HARRY’S story

Harry was just 11 years old in 2020, living with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a life-threatening condition that affects the heart’s ability to pump blood effectively. Every day carried uncertainty, and when he suddenly became critically unwell in May, his family faced their worst fear.

Harry urgently needed specialist care over 100 miles away from their Kings Lynn home, at Great Ormond Street Hospital. But he was far too unstable to make the 2–3 hour journey by land ambulance.

That’s when the National Children’s Air Ambulance stepped in…

YOUR gift TODAY MEANS THAT MORE CHILDREN WILL SURVIVE AND THRIVE

Harry was flown by our bespoke helicopter with specialist paediatric retrieval team the Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) – giving him the safest and fastest chance of survival. On the 2nd June, a few short weeks later, Harry needed a second air transfer.

Following these lifesaving missions, Harry went on to receive a heart transplant, and today he’s thriving!

Recently, his Mum Nina shared:

He’s now studying Health and Social Care at college and hopes to work at Great Ormond Street one day. He enjoys the gym, playing football and boxing. His bucket list holiday is to go skiing, which we now hope to do.

THERE IS NOTHING MORE precious THAN THE GIFT OF LIFE

I’m Tom, part of the National Children’s Air Ambulance team, and having previously worked in paediatric critical care transport at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Harry’s journey really resonated with me.

Our service has flown countless critically ill babies and children to the specialist care they urgently need across the country. With advanced equipment and expert teams on board, every mission gives a child the very best chance of survival.

Children like Harry depend on rapid, specialist transport — and because our charity receives no government funding, missions like his are only possible thanks to the generosity of people like you.

Your support today means more children can survive and thrive. Harry is now 17 years old, and planning his future, dreaming about working in a hospital, and living a full life that was once filled with uncertainty.

A one off donation of £25, or a regular monthly gift, will help us reach the next child who needs help, fast. We’d love you to be part of our next lifesaving mission.

thank you
