I’m so shocked and pleased to hear that I’ve won £5,000. It’s come at a really good time, as it will help with some home repairs. I will also treat my family and grandchildren, and donate a little back. I’m going to call my daughter right away to tell her the good news.
Spring Raffle 2025 Winner
Hannah Tuffnell had a normal and healthy pregnancy until she was involved in a road traffic accident in May 2023. It was from that moment that Hannah knew something wasn’t quite right with her baby.
An ultrasound revealed that Isabella’s heart rate wasn’t as it should be. Within an hour, Hannah had been prepped for an emergency caesarean to deliver her baby girl prematurely at 28 weeks.
Weighing just 2.2lb, Isabella was blue-lighted to Southmead Hospital where she was cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for over two weeks.
Still fragile and needing specialist care, Isabella was transferred in a bespoke onboard incubator by the National Children’s Air Ambulance and the Southwest Neonatal Advice and Retrieval Team, to the Royal Cornwall Hospital, closer to home.
Isabella spent a further two months in the local hospital’s neonatal unit, before returning home to her family.
