Malcolm's story

“ Those who touch our lives stay in our hearts forever” During a successful career of 47 years in education Malcolm had a welcome and positive impact on the lives of many students and their parents/ guardians who remember him with fondness and respect. Malcolm’s career began at Sedbergh School in Cumbria and culminated as Director of Kip McGrath Tutoring Centre Derby West. In the intervening years Malcolm enjoyed being a consultant, author, Ofsted inspector, college principal, government advisor and friend. Malcolm’s early achievements as a successful international Scottish swimmer and British swimming coach should also be celebrated. Malcolm will be missed dearly by Lynne, Charlotte, Matt & Oliver and Colin & Jess. Please donate to Malcolm’s chosen charity the Children’s Air Ambulance.

What is a gift in your will?

Legacies, also known as gifts in Wills, have a profound impact on our charity, funding 1 in 7 of our lifesaving missions. Legacies are another way in which you can honour a loved one’s memory and that gift allows their memory to live on long into the future, allowing us to save lives of future generations in their name. If you have included such a special gift in your Will, you can now show that on your loved one’s page with a pledge, or you can request to learn more about legacies with our free Gifts in Wills Guide.

Malcolm E Ferguson 's Tributes

  • I have such fond memories of Malcolm. He was the most encouraging, friendly and inspirational swimming and water polo coach at Sedbergh School there could ever be. That, along with the amazing teas that Lynne put on when you kindly invited us round to your home, I will always remember. So I am very saddened to hear of his passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Guy Adams (front row , kneeling, first on the left of the front row in the Sedbergh School Water Polo Marathon Photo in 1979)
