HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS

NATIONAL CHILDREN’S AIR AMBULANCE

Mila’s Story

Emily and Alistair, the parents of little Mila, know just how vital the National Children’s Air Ambulance is. Mila was both nine weeks early by emergency caesarian while the family were on holiday in Brighton. After four days in the Royal Sussex Hospital NICU, the National Children’s Air Ambulance, with the Embrace specialist retrieval team, flew Mila and Emily 261 miles so that the family could be at home together as Mila recovered. The National Children’s Air Ambulance bespoke incubator made the trip possible.

I was just so grateful to have Mila home with us. My family and I now support the National Children’s Air Ambulance as we know how much donations really matter.

– Emily, Mila’s mum

With no government or NHS funding, we urgently need your help to build a new, purpose-built airbase that ensures we are always ready to fly critically ill babies and children to the specialist care they need.

One of our key sites at Coventry is set to close, making this the moment to create a mission-ready base that brings the National Children’s Air Ambulance, our dedicated air desk team and Your Local Air Ambulance, serving Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, together under one roof. Designed to save precious minutes on the ground, this new base will help our crews respond sooner, when every second counts.

YOUR LOCAL AIR AMBULANCE

Charlie’s Story

In February 2025, nine-year-old Charlie Dexter was walking home from school when he was hit by a car outside his home. His dad Paul and nana rushed outside to find Charlie in the road with serious injuries. Your Local Air Ambulance was dispatched, bringing advanced critical care to Charlie at the scene.

Charlie sustained multiple brain injuries and a fractured skull, alongside a broken leg. He spent two weeks in an induced coma and later faced complications including sepsis, before beginning the long process of relearning everyday skills. His family and friends are overjoyed to have Charlie home.

I honestly believe they saved Charlie’s life with how quick they acted

– Emma, Charlie’s mum

Stories like Charlie’s are why your support matters. With no government or NHS funding, Your Local Air Ambulance relies on donations to keep crews ready to respond within minutes and deliver specialist care when every second counts. Buy your raffle tickets today to help us build a base that’s always ready to bring the hospital to the roadside.
