Warwickshire’s NFU Central makes generous donation to thank local lifesaving charity

The NFU Central Warwickshire has presented the lifesaving local air ambulance with an amazing donation of over £3,000.

The Stoneleigh-based organisation chose to make a donation to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) to show their appreciation to the charity for the 24/7 frontline service they provide to the local community – especially during the pandemic.

Community Fundraising Executive at WNAA, Lee Bunting, was presented with the generous cheque for £3,225.81 by NFU Central’s Kate McGrory, Client Engagement Executive, and Managing Partner Danny James.

“We are immensely grateful to NFU Central Warwickshire for their generous donation,” said Lee.

“We are proud to say that throughout this pandemic, we have continued to provide pre-hospital critical care to the people of Warwickshire when they needed us most,” he added.

The charity rose to the challenges faced throughout the pandemic, making the necessary changes – such as providing crews with vital PPE and making modifications to the aircraft – to continue providing its lifesaving service, supporting the NHS when it needed it most.

“All the additional safety precautions have obviously come at a financial cost, but it’s because of donations like this that we have been able to continue providing our vital service.

“We sincerely hope that we are now coming to the end of this pandemic and are already noticing the enthusiasm from the public to get back to fundraising – which we are incredibly grateful for,” added Lee.

Danny James commented: “COVID-19 continues to have a huge impact on everybody, including our customers and their local communities.

“The local air ambulance has been making a wonderful difference to our community during these challenging times, and we feel extremely proud to hear how our support has made an impact.”

Your local air ambulance receives no government funding so a donation like this is essential in keeping its helicopter flying, and critical care car out on the roads of Warwickshire, and further afield. To find out how you can support the charity, please click here.
