Twycross Tractor Run drives in air ambulance donations

The Central Midlands Vintage Stationary Engine Society (CMVSES) has driven in donations to raise vital funds for the lifesaving services of The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS).

The team at CMVSES held a fabulous rally weekend on August Bank Holiday weekend with a three-hour Tractor Run, from Twycross, in a bid to raise funds for the essential charity.

“The Air Ambulance Service is a great charity which is available to all, and without regular donations the service would find it difficult to function,” said CMVSES Chairman Robert Everitt.

“Members of the public never know when they might need to rely on the ministrations of this vital emergency service which CMVSES have chosen to support,” he added.

The Tractor Run raised a brilliant £800 which was presented to the charity’s Community Fundraising Volunteers Colin and Aileen Measom.

The Air Ambulance Service – which operates both the local Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance – is especially vital within the rural and agricultural communities due to its ability to reach patients quickly in remote locations, as well as its crews delivering advanced pre-hospital emergency care on scene.

Laura Sage, Community Fundraising Executive for TAAS said: “The support of our local communities and businesses is so important to our charity as we receive no government or national lottery for our daily missions. I’d like to say a huge thank you to CMVSES for their fantastic donation of £800 which will go towards keeping our vital service operational.

“Our crews are available, 24/7, 365 days a year, so support like this means that we can continue to deliver our lifesaving, frontline critical care to those who need it most.”

The Air Ambulance Service crews will continue to work around the clock over the festive period – including Christmas Day – and urge the public to support the charity through one of the many great fundraising events being held, including a Virtual Santa Fun Run.
