The Grace Trust donate £15,000 to support charity’s lifesaving missions

The Grace Trust have donated £15,000 to help support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The Grace Trust is funded by donations from businesses and individuals, most of whom are members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church and who share the Trust’s vison of providing for others. Through grants and donations, they support hundreds of charities and chose to donate a total of £15,000 to WNAA and DLRAA.

The incredible donation from The Grace Trust will go towards the purchase of a new LUCAS device.

On 08 July 2024 Chris Birch, Tim Dallow and their photographer Tash McCroft from The Grace Trust visited the charity’s Nottingham heliport to see a demonstration of how their current LUCAS device works – the charity already has the LUCAS 2 and will now be able to upgrade to the LUCAS 3 thanks to their generous donation.

The LUCAS is a chest compression system that delivers uninterrupted and consistent chest compressions – helpful in difficult transport conditions and eliminates the physical strain on the person performing the CPR. The third generation of the device has improved features to facilitate maintenance and handling and allows for new insights through easy, wireless Bluetooth access to device data.

“The Grace Trust has provided generous support to The Air Ambulance Service which provide an amazing service throughout Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, as well as the national Children’s Air Ambulance,” said Chris Birch, Trust Liaison Manager for The Grace Trust.

“The recent donation in July of £15,000 has gone towards a new LUCAS device which is an automatic CPR machine that will enable crucial aid to patients who might not survive with such rapid intervention,” he added.

The WNAA and DLRAA crews deliver critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies – such as cardiac arrest and accidents at home – and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.

“On behalf of the charity I would like to say a big thank you to The Grace Trust for kindly donating vital funds to support our charity. They have supported our charity over the past eleven years and without them our lifesaving missions wouldn’t have been possible,” said Chloe Bass, Legacies and In Memory Manager for the charity.

“The donation they have given us will go towards a new LUCAS device for our crews to use during their lifesaving missions when needed. This vital equipment will help to save more lives,” she expressed.
