Santa Pod Raceway helps to raise vital funds for lifesaving charity

Santa Pod Raceway have helped to raise vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

During the FIA European Final at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire the charity attended their Drag Racing event and hosted a fundraising stand to support further lifesaving missions throughout Northamptonshire and further afield.

Over the four days the charity raised almost £1,700 with a range of merchandise and fundraising games – £500 of the amount raised was from auctioning off drag car parts signed and donated by Carl Cox Motorsport. Santa Pod also donated raffle prizes and baseball caps to increase the fundraising.

Santa Pod’s most prestigious Drag Racing event on 05 – 08 September featured over 250 of Europe’s finest teams, including 300mph Top Fuel Dragsters, 200mph Drag Bikes and over 20 supporting classes. Visitors were able to see the Jet Car, Monster Trucks, stunt shows, static displays, air displays, and a range of traders.

“At Santa Pod Raceway we are committed to giving back to those who go the extra mile. By supporting the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance we are able to ensure they can still respond to various incidents when every second is vital and can provide lifesaving care – make a real difference to many lives,” said Jess Knight, Box Office Manager at Santa Pod Raceway.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance crews deliver critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies – such as cardiac arrest and accidents at home – and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.

Karen Hughes, Community Fundraising Executive for Northamptonshire said:

“I would like to say a big thank you to Santa Pod for allowing us to hold a fundraising stall at their Drag Racing event and to Carl Cox Motorsport for donating signed drag car parts.”

“We receive no government or National Lottery funding for our lifesaving missions, so we rely on donations and support from businesses and the local community just like this to raise the £2,300 needed for each mission,” she added.
