Patient saved by lifesaving charity raises more than £18,000

Managing Director of Pure Staff, Dave Whitehouse, has raised more than £18,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

Dave and Pure Staff held their annual charity dinner on 28 September 2024 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. Over two hundred and thirty people were in attendance to enjoy a three-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and an auction including a Ronaldo signed shirt, theatre break and a signed script from the first episode of Peaky Blinders – raising more than £18,000 to support the charity’s lifesaving missions.

In July 2018 Dave suffered a cardiac arrest in the car park at the Belfry after a game of golf and unbeknown to him at the time he had a heart condition – since diagnosed as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), which can often be fatal.

Thanks to the immediate action of two off-duty nurses, as well as the speedy response of the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and West Midlands Ambulance Service he survived and was later fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) to regulate his heart rhythm.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support and dedication of our guests who have helped us to raise another phenomenal amount for this deserving charity,” said Dave Whitehouse, Managing Director of Pure Staff Limited.

“My life was saved against the odds, and I wanted to give back to the lifesaving service that helped me in my time of need.

“We managed to surpass the amount raised last year and will be holding another charity dinner again next year to raise vital funds to support the charity and ensure the lifesaving missions just like mine, can continue,” he added.

Dave and his team are holding their annual Charity Dinner again on 27 September 2025 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull. The evening will include a three-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and a variety of auction items. Tickets will be available for £47.50 per person or £425 for a table of ten.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA). Their critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission.

Community Fundraising Manager for the charity, Lynn Wood said:

“On behalf of the charity I would like to say thank you to Dave, his family and the entire team at Pure Staff for the dedication they have shown to our charity and for the phenomenal amount they have raised to support us. We are lucky enough that they have chosen to support us next year, for the third year in a row.”

“We are incredibly grateful and without support just like this we wouldn’t be able to continue our lifesaving missions and keep our helicopters flying,” she expressed.
