Oakham charity boutique celebrates funding more than 900 lifesaving missions

Your local air ambulance charity boutique store in Oakham is celebrating funding more than 900 lifesaving missions for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The charity boutique opened its doors on 24 October 2012 and is situated in the town centre of Oakham, Rutland and is one of two stores in the area – the other being the Oakham Homestore. Over the past twelve years the hardworking store has generated an incredible £1,595,079 worth of sales for the charity – funding more than 900 lifesaving missions throughout Rutland and further afield.
The store has also received 44,033 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.
Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
Store Manager Tania Orriss said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the local community who has supported us over the past twelve years. Without this incredible support we wouldn’t have been able to support more than 900 lifesaving missions.”
“Please continue to donate your pre-loved items to us to keep our helicopters and crews flying 24/7, 365 days per year,” she added.
