Nottinghamshire village hosts coffee and cake morning in aid of children’s charity

The village of Bothamsall in Nottinghamshire have raised vital funds to support the Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) and their lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.
On Saturday 05 April 2025 the lovely village of Bothamsall in Nottinghamshire hosted a community coffee and cake morning to raise funds to support the national children’s charity. They raised the vital funds with home-baked goods, warm drinks, a raffle, local craft stalls and donations – totalling £570.
“We would like to thank everyone who baked goods, donated prizes and hosted a stall, as well as everyone who helped us to get to our great total of £570 – some might say it was a piece of cake,” said Nicky Thomas, TCAA Volunteer.
“Every penny of the funds we raised will go towards making more lifesaving missions possible for critically ill babies and children across the UK,” she expressed.
The Children’s Air Ambulance is a charity changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters, which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.
Cherry Crane, Community Fundraising Assistant for the children’s charity said:
“We are extremely grateful to Nicky and everyone in Bothamsall who helped to raise vital funds to support our charity.”
“Community events like these highlight the impact of supporter led events and how they can really help to make a big difference to charities.
“Without this support we wouldn’t be able to keep our helicopters flying, helping to save little lives,” she added.
