Matt keeps on running until fundraising marathons for local air ambulance take place
The brother of a patient airlifted by Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance has run a self-isolated marathon as a thank you to people who have sponsored him to take part in two official events cancelled because of the Covid-19 crisis.
Completing the 26.2 miles route from Waterlooville to Romsey in Hampshire has added another £70 to Matt Switzer’s JustGiving total which is now standing at £1,220.
Matt’s brother Ben was airlifted by WNAA ten years ago after he was involved in a road traffic collision.
As a way of showing his gratitude Matt (31) was planning on running two marathons in eight days -London and Milton Keynes – both of which were postponed.
He plans to keep running regularly until they are rearranged.
“My aim is to raise enough money to fund a WNAA rescue mission so that another family can get the second chance that we received,” he says.
