London Marathon a runaway success

Our amazing London Marathon runners have raised tens of thousands of pounds from their wonderful efforts this year.nnSome 29 runners took part in the nation’s favourite fundraising challenge for us on Sunday, including Eastenders’ star Adam Woodyatt.nnAll of them were raising money for our two local air ambulances or the national Children’s Air Ambulance. The money is still coming in but more than £34,000 has been collected so far – and the final total is expected to exceed this.nnOur team included former patients and families of people who had been helped by our services as well as other supporters. Soap star Adam – who was running with his son Sam and even stopped for an ice cream during the race – has raised about £4,470, well exceeding his target.nnOne of our runners even completed the race in a truly impressive three hours and 16 minutes.nnEvents manager Laura Tapp said: “A huge thank you to all the runners and the volunteers who came along and helped out cheering them on and motivating them through those last gruelling couple of miles.
