Local DHL Aviation’s support for lifesaving air ambulance reaches £86,000

The latest donation of £17,905 to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) brings the total amount DHL Aviation have raised for the lifesaving charity to a staggering £86,783.00.

Staff at Derbyshire’s DHL Aviation have held events such as charity Christmas raffles, cake sales, auctions, and Christmas card sales – to name a few – for the last 13 years, and this latest phenomenal amount is the proceeds from their 2019 fundraising efforts.

Shirley Ramplin, Receptionist at DHL Aviation said:

“With DHL Aviation being based at East Midlands Airport, we regularly see the iconic yellow and grey helicopter flying out to attend lifesaving missions, so we could not think of a more worthy cause to support.

“The service is vital for our local community and we will continue to support them year on year as we believe in the lifesaving work they do.”

This week, Community Fundraising Executive for DLRAA, Kerry Wilson, went to meet Shirley and Fleet Administrator Diane Twells to personally thank them for the invaluable support given to the charity over the years.

“It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Shirley and Diane and to be able to thank them personally for the generous donations and fantastic support,” said Kerry.

“We are incredibly grateful for corporate partnerships like this one with DHL Aviation as the charity receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to remain operational.

“Support for our charity is more vital now than ever before as we are set to receive two brand new replacement helicopters early next year in order to continue providing the leading level of pre-hospital emergency care to the people of Derbyshire and beyond,” added Kerry.
