Lifesaving service is nominated for a charity retail award

The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has been nominated for the ‘Shop of the Year’ award as part of the national Charity Retail Awards 2024.

The Charity Retail Association promotes charitable causes and an environmentally sustainable retail experience and are the primary membership association for charity shops in the UK. The awards event has a range of categories to highlight the many successes of the charity retail sector, and TAAS are proud to be nominated for shop of the year for their Melton Mowbray superstore.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the local Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA), Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), as well as the national Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).

The Melton Mowbray superstore was nominated for this award due to the store’s exceptional performance and since opening on 19 November 2021, the store has generated £1,735,702.00 – funding more than 1,000 lifesaving missions.

Hannah Coventry, Head of Retail for the charity said: “It is fantastic that the hard work of our retail teams has been recognised as part of the Charity Retail Awards this year.

“We are proud to have been nominated for this award and since opening the store only three years ago the team has hit many major milestones including raising a phenomenal £1 million worth of sales in just a year.”

“We would like to wish the team at the Melton Mowbray superstore and everyone nominated the best of luck with the Charity Retail Awards,” she added.
