Leicestershire volunteer group raise over £3,000 to support charity’s lifesaving missions
Love Castle Donington have raised more than £3,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Love Castle Donington is a local volunteer group that has been running since 2022. They are based in Castle Donington and showcase local events while also arranging their own.
In April 2024 they held a black-tie ball at The Priest House by the River in Leicestershire to raise funds to support the charity’s lifesaving missions. The evening also included food, entertainment, an auction and a raffle, raising a total of £3,200.
“The inaugural ball held by Love Castle Donington was hard work getting off the ground, but many individuals and local businesses all came together to assist in our first large venture and the evening was delightful,” said Alex Manley, Fundraiser for Love Castle Donington.
“We are so proud of the funds we raised to support this vital local charity and many of the attendees want to know when we are holding the next one,” she added.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crew are available 24/7, 365 days per year, providing lifesaving pre-hospital care to those who need it the most. The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding and relies solely on generous donations from its supporters to fund its vital missions – without this they wouldn’t be able to continue their lifesaving critical care across Leicestershire and further afield.
Tracey Jones, Community Fundraising Executive for the charity said:
“We would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Love Castle Donington for holding a black-tie ball to raise vital funds to support our lifesaving missions.
“Without support just like this from local communities we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most, 24/7, 365 days per year.”
