Leicestershire charity store celebrates funding more than 300 lifesaving missions

Your local air ambulance charity store in Birstall is celebrating funding more than 300 lifesaving missions for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The charity boutique opened its doors on 03 November 2017 and is situated in Birstall, Leicestershire, close to the beautiful Watermead Country Park. Over the past seven years the charity boutique has generated an amazing £625,967 worth of sales for the charity – funding more than 300 lifesaving missions throughout Leicestershire and further afield.

The store has also received 57,997 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.

Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Store Manager Paula Green said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the local community who has supported us over the past seven years. We rely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each mission and to keep our helicopters flying.”

“Please continue to donate your pre-loved items to us to keep our crews available 24/7, 365 days per year,” she added.
