Leicestershire charity store celebrates funding almost 700 lifesaving missions
Your local air ambulance charity boutique store in Ashby-de-la-Zouch is celebrating funding almost 700 lifesaving missions for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The charity boutique opened its doors on 01 July 2011 in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. Over the past thirteen years the store has generated an amazing £1,171,104.54 worth of sales for the charity – funding almost 700 lifesaving missions in Leicestershire and further afield.
The store has also received 57,162 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.
Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
Store Manager Todd Whitsey said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the local community for their continued support at our store over the past thirteen years.”
“We rely on our local community’s support with donations of pre-loved items such as bric-a-brac, clothing and toys to keep our vital missions possible and keep our crews delivering pre-hospital critical care 24/7, 365 days per year,” he added.
