Leicestershire charity boutique celebrates funding more than 1,000 lifesaving missions

Your local air ambulance charity boutique store in Market Harborough is celebrating funding more than 1,000 lifesaving missions for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The charity boutique opened its doors on 16 July 2013 and is situated in Market Harborough, Leicestershire with a large selection of new and pre-loved items available. Over the past eleven years the store has generated an incredible £1,787,470.95 worth of sales for the charity – incredibly funding more than 1,000 lifesaving missions throughout Leicestershire and further afield.

The store has also received 64,860 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.

Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Store Manager Sailesh Ghelani said: “We would like to thank the local community for their amazing support over the past eleven years. Without this we wouldn’t be able to provide pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most in Leicestershire and further afield.”

“We receive no government or National Lottery funding and rely on donations from the local community and businesses to raise the much needed £2,300 for each lifesaving mission, so please continue to donate your unwanted items to your local store,” she added.
