Kings Heath charity store celebrates funding more than 400 lifesaving missions
The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) boutique charity store in Kings Heath, Birmingham is celebrating funding more than 400 lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.
The charity boutique opened its doors on 16 August 2013 and is situated on the high street in Kings Heath. Over the past eleven years the boutique has generated £1,513,712.17 worth of sales for the charity, incredibly funding more than 400 lifesaving missions – enabling the charity to continue saving young lives across the UK.
The store has also received 37,987 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.
The Children’s Air Ambulance is a national charity changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from one hospital to another for specialist care via the clinically designed helicopters, which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.
The charity works alongside 11 NHS Clinical Partner Teams across the UK, including KIDS NTS – a combined Neonatal and Paediatric Critical Care advice and transport service for critically ill neonates and children in the West Midlands.
Store Manager Michele Smith said: “We would like to thank everyone in the local community for their amazing support over the last eleven years. We receive no government or National Lottery funding for our lifesaving missions, so without this support we wouldn’t be able to continue to save the lives of critically ill babies and children across the UK.”
“Please continue to donate pre-loved items and shop with us to help raise vital funds,” she added.
