Kettering & District Lions Club raise vital funds to support local charity

Kettering & District Lions Club have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

Kettering & District Lions Club are based in Northamptonshire and are a friendly and enthusiastic club aiming to fulfil the aim and objectives of Lions Clubs worldwide. They provide comfort and assistance to people less fortunate than themselves, including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

They raised a total of £500 to support the lifesaving missions undertaken by the WNAA crew in Northamptonshire and further afield.

“The Kettering & District Lions Club has always appreciated the valuable and vital service the local charity offers. We have made several donations to them over the years to keep their lifesaving missions possible,” said Michael Walsh, Chair of Kettering & District Lions Club.

“We raised the £500 donation through our fundraising activities including supermarket collections, pub quizzes, social events and more and we would like to thank everyone who helped us to raise this.

“We are proud to say that our funds will go towards keeping the charity’s helicopters flying and their pre-hospital critical care available 24/7, 365 days a year,” he added.

Within minutes, the WNAA’s critical care crew can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital critical care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Karen Hughes, Community Fundraising Executive for Northamptonshire, said:

“We would like to say a big thank you to the Kettering & District Lions Club for their continued support over the years. Without their vital funds, we wouldn’t have been able to continue our lifesaving missions in Northamptonshire and further afield.”
