Holme Valley Young Farmers Club raise vital funds to support children’s charity
Holme Valley Young Farmers Club have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).
Holme Valley Young Farmers Club in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire held a Harvest Auction on 14 October 2023 at Scapehouse Inn, raising a total of £1,350 to support the children’s charity’s lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.
“We are very proud to have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Children’s Air Ambulance. One of my close friends required the service when their baby became critically ill and we saw just how important the charity was to them – without the service the outcome could’ve been very different,” said Fiona Haigh, Club Leader at Holme Valley Young Farmers Club.
The Children’s Air Ambulance is changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from local hospitals to specialist paediatric and neonatal treatment centres via the clinically designed helicopters which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.
The charity works alongside 11 NHS Clinical Partner Teams across the UK, including Embrace Yorkshire & Humber Infant & Children’s Transport Service (Embrace), part of Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundations Trust.
Sharon Evans, Community Fundraising Executive for the charity said:
“We would like to say thank you to Holme Valley Young Farmers Club for the vital funds they have raised to support our charity.”
“We receive no government or National Lottery funding for our lifesaving missions and rely on the generosity of the local community to raise the £3,600 needed for each mission.”
“The funds they have raised will go towards saving another little life and will keep our helicopters flying,” she added.
