Former Mayor of Southam helps local lifesaving air ambulance

The Former Mayor of Southam, Mike Brooks, has presented a cheque for over £1,900 to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

The great amount was raised by way of a successful and enjoyable Brass Band Concert in September 2019 – as well as generous donations from private individuals and local businesses.

“It was my great pleasure to present the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance with a cheque for £1,960, representing funds raised in my capacity as former Mayor of Southam for 2019-2020,” said Mike.

This was the second time during his Mayoral terms that Mike had nominated the lifesaving service as his Charity of the Year because of a personal connection to them.

“The Air Ambulance saved the life of a good friend of mine some years back when a vehicle accident could have otherwise proved fatal, and since then my wife and I have taken every opportunity to support them,” added Mike.

WNAA Community Fundraising Executive, Lee Bunting, said:

“We’d like to thank Mike Brooks for his continued support and donations to our charity.”

“Support like this is more vital now than ever before as the charity is set to receive two brand new replacement helicopters early next year in order to continue providing the leading level of pre-hospital emergency care to the people of Warwickshire and beyond.”
