Festive charity tractor run to raise lifesaving funds
On Sunday 19 December, festive tractors will come together and take to the roads of South Leicestershire in a drive to raise vital funds for the lifesaving Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The spectacular event run by Archers View will see nearly 200 tractors – kitted out in festive decorations and lights – spreading Christmas cheer to thousands of people throughout the route that starts and finishes in Lutterworth, visiting areas such as Blaby, Whetstone, Countesthorpe, and Cosby.
The vital funds raised from Archer’s Festive Tractor Run will be split between the MS Therapy Centre and the local lifesaving air ambulance.
The team at Archers View said: “We chose to support the local Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance as they do a fantastic job in saving lives every day of the year – especially within the agricultural and rural communities.
“The charity is close to our hearts as a friend of ours was recently rescued by the service, so we think it’s important to raise the much needed funds to keep the service operational. We’d love for the public to show their support by donating to our JustGiving page and follow the tractor run route on social media using @archersview.”
The event is set to start at 4pm and there will be a variety of food stalls, an auction, and much more also on offer – with all proceeds going towards supporting the charities.
“Our service is especially vital within the rural and agricultural communities due to our helicopter’s ability to reach patients quickly in remote locations, as well as our crews being able to deliver advanced pre-hospital emergency care on scene,” said DLRAA Community Fundraising Executive, Vicky Evans.
“The support of Archers View – along with all our Leicestershire supporters – is so important to our charity as we receive no government or national lottery for our daily missions. Our crews are available, 24/7, 365 days a year, so support like this means that we can continue to deliver our lifesaving, frontline critical care to those who need it most,” she added.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crew will continue to work around the clock over the festive period – including Christmas Day – and urge the public to get in the Christmas spirit and support Archer’s Festive Charity Tractor Fun Run.
