Thank You to Point to Point Racing and Rehabilitation
A point to point racing and rehabilitation centre, based in Burbage, Leicestershire, opened its gates to the general public and raised £600 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Katie B. Frisby Point to Point and Rehabilitation have held owners days over the last four years of running the yard alongside The Stars and Diamonds Racing Club, but this year was slightly different as it was an open invitation to anyone wanting to look around the yard, meet the current race horses and those in rehabilitation.
Katie said “It was a great success. We estimated 200 people came to the yard where we gave people the opportunity to have a look at what goes on behind the scenes in the training of racehorses and rehabilitating injured horses back to health.
“Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and to all the local companies and businesses involved that supplied some fantastic raffle prices for us to raise £600 for the local air ambulance which is a fantastic amount.”
Graham Wightman, a Hinckley representative for the local air ambulance, visited the yard to receive the cheque which was presented to him by members of The Stars and Diamonds Racing Club along with Katie, Paddy (the Shetland pony) and Carumba one of the horses that will be running in the racing club’s colours in Hunter Chases at racecourses and Point to Point meetings.
