Thank You Melton Building Society
Air ambulance charity receives donation from Melton Building Society
The Melton Building Society has donated £11,725 for lifesaving local charity Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The money was raised through a special savings account which gives savers an attractive rate of interest and a donation of a percentage of average daily account balances.
Sophie Burt, DLRAA’s senior fundraising manager, says: “The charity’s existence relies entirely on public donations so we are thrilled with how much was raised. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Melton Building Society – their generous ongoing support plays a crucial part in allowing us to provide vital services for the general public.”
Each mission DLRAA run costs around £1,700, and they receive no government funding. The charity rely entirely on fundraising events like this to keep their lifesaving services flying.
Chief executive of Melton Building Society, Martin Reason, says “DLRAA provides a unique and extremely valuable service and the Melton Building Society is delighted to support the charity.”
