Thank you Great Arc Zumbathon
A Zumba session normally lasts for just one hour – and is pretty exhausting at that! The Great Arc Zumbathon ran for three hours – virtually non-stop! And it was a great success.
Arriving at Arc Matlock for 10am on Saturday 10th October around 40 keen dancers prepared to test their dancing stamina – and many were still going strong(ish) the full three hours later!
The instructors for the morning: Kim, Julie and Dave, were all thrilled by the enthusiasm and energy shown by everyone in the hall. ‘The event has been great fun, with everyone rising to the challenge to raise money for our charities, by dancing their socks off!’ said Dave.
The final amount raised by the Zumbathon was £310, which is to be shared equally between The Air Ambulance Service and Ashgate Hospice – two very valuable and important charities for the area.
Special thanks is due not only to all those who attended and donated money on the day, but also to Derbyshire Dales District Council for their great support of the event. Arc Matlock’s amazing sports hall – offered free of charge- proved to be an excellent venue. Thanks is also due to Real Time Music, Chesterfield, for their generous donation of the event’s sound system.
