Thank You Eileen Whitehouse
On Thursday 8th October 2015, Eileen Whitehouse donated £1,815.00 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Eileen Whitehouse and Priscilla Hallam presented Richard and Grace Fletcher, Derbyshire community representatives for DLRAA, with the cheque at the Langley Mill Miners Welfare & Social Club, on their bingo night. The donation was raised over the last 24 months from raffles held each week; on bingo night at the interval they would have a raffle and a collection for the DLRAA. Eileen also had help from her friend Priscilla who sold tickets at the hairdressers where she works.
Eileen said: “I want to thank everyone who has helped raise this money for DLRAA and hopes this continues as you never know when you may need the air ambulance”.
Priscilla explained Eileen had been raising money for more than 30 years for numerous local charities by running weekly raffles. Eileen’s passion for raising money started when she was the secretary for Langley Mill Carnival Committee. Eileen has raised thousands for local charities and is truly inspirational to us all.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the cheque from Eileen and Priscilla. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no government funding. Support from people such as from Eileen and Priscilla really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying and this donation will help us to save a life.
