Thank You Okeover Arms and Organisers
A charity party recently staged on the car park of the Okeover Arms in Mappleton in aid of the air ambulance has raised the sum of £2,000.
Sid and Jean Coxon, host and hostess of the Okeover Arms, kindly gave the use of their car park to the party organisers Caroline Fagg, Karen Tipper, Gaynor Clowes and Leigh Hemsil.
Thanks are also due to Peak Waste for their support.
Three bands, Fathom, Richard Quail and Breaking Poynt, gave freely of their time (and amplifiers) and a barbeque was provided by Rob Stafford, who donated the meat, and Bob Dyer, who cooked it on the day.
Other attractions included a raffle, a charity auction, a cake stall, a disco, a coconut shy and children’s games.
Pictured is John Wilson, a volunteer fundraiser with Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance, receiving the £2,000 cheque from the party organisers.
