Thank You MFN Club
On Wednesday 5th October 2016, The MFN Club donated £2,270.00 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Malcom “The Duke” Allured (former drummer of Showaddywaddy) and club owner with his own band Hot Motor-Cycle Club, Tom Allured-Rowley and Lynda Hamilton presented Richard Fletcher, Derbyshire community representative for DLRAA, with the cheque at the MFN Club at Shipley Gate. The donation was raised over the last 24 months through a raffle and regular collections for DLRAA from the many customers and visitors to the club.
Malcom said “I want to thank everyone who has helped raise this money for DLRAA and hope this continues as you never know when you may need the air ambulance”.
Lynda Hamilton explained raising this money started with a fantastic donation from Racepaint UK Eastwood of a custom paint job on any bike. This was very popular as a raffle prize and over £1,000 was raised. Marie Cooke did a great job selling the tickets. There was also amazing support from all the regulars and Moto Gymkhana who use the car park of the club every Monday evening for practicing, providing entertainment for the club.
Richard said: “I was delighted to be presented with the cheque from Malcom “The Duke” Allured, Tom Allured-Rowley and Lynda Hamilton. DLRAA relies entirely on donations from members of the public as it receives no government funding. Support from people like Malc, Tom, Lynda and MFN Club really is invaluable and goes a long way to helping to keep our lifesaving service flying.”
DLRAA was formed in 2008 and attends approximately three rescue missions every day, from horse riding accidents, to road traffic collisions, to sports injuries, falls, and many more. It has carried out more than 8,200 rescue missions and saved many lives in the process, each rescue mission costing on average £1,700.
