Our Supporter Thank Yous – May

We’re almost at the end of the Spring Bank holidays but that means Summer is on its way!

With the sun shining there’s been an abundance of our lovely supporters getting out and about to spread the message of the incredible work we do here at The Air Ambulance; thank you to each and every one of you that helps to keep us flying and saving lives.

 

Collingtree Park Golf Club

Collingtree Park Golf Club have chosen to fundraise for us for 2019 as their charity of the year. We held a cheque presentation from their Seniors 25th Anniversary event , presented by this year’s Captain Ian Smith.

 

Sally from Turtle Tots

Huge thanks to Sally who gives an annual donation to the Air Ambulance Service in support of the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire services, from a portion of their revenue generated throughout the year. We’ve received £1716.04 from Turtle Tots which is an amazingly generous amount that will go towards life saving missions.

 

Walker’s Deli & Sausage Co & Ashley Robson

Walker’s Deli & Sausage Co. chose us as their charity of the year, raising a total amount of £1,143.61 in various ways. Ashley Robson, who is an employee at Walker’s also ran the Leicester Half Marathon and raised a total amount of £1031.14 through sponsorships. Big thanks to everyone who supported Walker’s Deli & Sausage Co, as well as Ashley directly to help raise funds for our services.

 

Leicestershire & Warwickshire VW Owner’s Club

Walker’s Deli & Sausage Co. chose us as their charity of the year, raising a total amount of £1,143.61 in various ways. Ashley Robson, who is an employee at Walker’s also ran the Leicester Half Marathon and raised a total amount of £1031.14 through sponsorships. TruckForce Depot in Rugby

The Air Ambulance Service want to say a big thank you to all the staff at TruckForce Depot in Rugby who have kindly made a very generous donation of £505 to our service, by having healthy Fridays at work.

Nicky and Luke said all colleagues at the depot would get involved and make a donation on a Friday to the Local Air Ambulance service, by putting any money they would normally spend on their biscuits over that month into the donation pot. Thank you all so much for your support and helping to keep us flying.

 

Mayor of Heanor & Loscoe Town Council Brian Gratton

We want to say a big thank you to long standing councillor and Mayor of Heanor & Loscoe Town Council Brian Gratton, for raising £200.00 for our vital services.

The donation came from the Mayor Fundraising activities over the year. Councillor Brian Gratton presented Richard Fletcher Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money at the council meeting which is at the Market Place in Heanor.

 

Chris Bateman from the Codnor Inn

Thank you to Chris Bateman Landlord of the Codnor Inn, for raising £104.27. The donation came when Chris decided they would support The Air Ambulance Service with a very special May Day Raffle. They had some fantastic prizes donated, so thank you to everyone that

 

Rutland Plastics – Charity Football Match

Rutlands Plastics arranged a charity football match at Oakham United Football Club, Rutland Plastics vs Oakham Utd. Final amount raised: £939.39 from the proceeds of the game and Rutland Plastics added a cheque to that for £100 which made a total of £1000.39. We can’t thank them enough for all of the work to get this arranged and hope everyone had a brilliant day.

 

Linnell Brothers Showroom

A recent dinner evening organised by Linnell Brothers Timber merchants of Silverstone, Northants, raised a terrific sum of £2,500 for The Air Ambulance Service.

Kindly hosted by John Linnell on the evening of 3rd May 2019, this dinner event was a resounding success featuring local produce, suppliers, and businesses.

This donation to The Air Ambulance Service brings the total raised by Linnell Brothers to over £13,000.

Volunteer Stuart King thanked the gathering and delivered a talk on the operations of the charity. Having actually seen The Air Ambulance in action within Northamptonshire, the guests were eager to support the life-saving organisation.

Thank you to Linnell Bros Ltd. and all who generously supported them.

 

Selston Dog Show

£438.50 was raised at Selston dog show through a raffle and pub collection. Thank you to everyone involved in helping raise a fantastic amount.

 

CSM Bakery Solutions

A massive Thank You to CSM Bakery Solutions in Daventry for raising a total of £1,240.50 for The Air Ambulance Service. Louise site Manager at CSM said Since 2018 the wonderful contractors and suppliers they work with over the year, will kindly supply raffle prizes for them to use at the Easter and Christmas staff Raffle and the money from the Raffle is then donated to WNAA.

A big thank you also to Maggie Dykes, who also deals with all the main ticket sales for this and has been with the company for 30 years!

Derby High School

The Air Ambulance would like to say a huge thank you to the staff and students at Derby High School who, after a year of fundraising, have raised a fantastic £2,413.75. Their passion for raising funds for us was incredible to see, as was their enthusiasm. We are very grateful for all of their support.

 

Local4U Darley Dale

The Air Ambulance Service are saying a big thank you to Local4U Darley Dale for raising £202.17 with a very special Easter Raffle when a very kind-hearted resident of the village donated a large hand knitted Peter Rabbit. Staff from Local4U Darley Dale presented Richard Fletcher Derbyshire Community Representative for DLRAA, with the money at the shop at Darley Dale.

 

The Royal Oak – Eydon

Thank you to Steve Allen who organised a lively Quiz Night raising £86.00. Separately, Dr Janet Arrand organised an enjoyable and very successful Curry Night as a pop-up restaurant featuring Kevin Thompson and Vicky Whitehead (of Pandemania Pizza) that attracted further donations.  Together, these 2 events raised an impressive total of £432.65. Thank you to everyone involved for your valued support.

 

The Revival Ceilidh Band

Huge thank you to The Revival Ceilidh Band who held an event on 27th April 2019 in Ashover Parish Hall with proceeds and raffle money they donated £550.00 to our Community Volunteer, Keith Murfin. This means so much to our charity and goes towards supporting our services.

 

County Communities Association

Thank you to the County Communities Association who raised £600 by giving tours of the village and asking people to donate to us in lieu of payment for the tours. We can’t thank those enough for all the work they put in and to everyone who donated to us.

 

 

‘Benidorm or Bust’ – Jamie’s Gingers

Thank you to those involved in raising £570 for The Air Ambulance Service in memory of their friend. Although Jamie was rescued by us, they are huge supporters of the charity and we appreciate all of the efforts they went to on their ‘Benidorm or Bust’ driving challenge.

 

‘Benidorm or Bust’ – Team Little Britain

Over £1000 has been raised so far from Team Little Britain who took part in the driving challenge ‘Benidorm or Bust’, and the team even won 1st place for Best Fancy Dress at the event! We’re so grateful for all the efforts put into the challenge and costumes to get such an amazing amount of fundraising – thank you!

 

Sandiacre Male Voice Choir

A massive thank you to the Sandiacre Male Voice Choir who raised an incredible £720 which they presented to Volunteer John Brown. We are incredibly grateful for your support and wonderful voices!
