Lottie raises funds after DLRAA rescues uncle
After watching her Uncle Paul survive a brain haemorrhage Lottie Meynell decided that she wanted to help raise funds for Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance – after all, without them he would not have survived.
Lottie wrote to Derbyshire County Netball, which she is an athlete in, telling them about her Uncle Paul’s experience and the fantastic work these people do on a daily basis and Derbyshire County Netball agreed it would be great to support a charity close to home this year.
The money was raised over the netball season by various fund raising activities and ended in an end of Season Festival.
The Festival’s theme was “flying” and the girls all dressed up in fancy dress on the day and despite the great British weather everyone had an enjoyable time. There was some fantastic netball played by the girls and lots of excellent support for the raffle and refreshment stall. Most of all the rewarding moment was that Paul, Heather and Emily were able to be part of the day.
A staggering £875 was raised; this couldn’t have been achieved without the support and donations from all involved.
