Charity rugby day raises over £2,000
Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance are saying a big thank you to Long Buckby Rugby Club after a charity day they hosted raised over £2,000 – well over enough to fund a mission for their lifesaving service.
The club’s charity day featured rugby matches with young and old, and included a hog roast. The day was held in aid of the air ambulance after the father of one of the organisers was airlifted by WNAA.
Richard Durham and Heather Burton, volunteers for the charity, attended the day.
Heather said “It was a pleasure to support their event and it was so wonderful to meet Mr Fair, who was airlifted by our air ambulance. Mr Fair presented us with a generous donation, which we were delighted to receive on behalf of the charity. On behalf of WNAA we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in putting on such a great day and to everyone who donated whether prizes, money or time thank you, your generosity will help keep our vital service flying.”
