East Midlands based business donates £12,000 to support local lifesaving charity
Valero Energy Ltd has donated £12,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Valero East Midlands Airport Terminal is one of the key suppliers of jet fuel to the airport, a major aviation hub for both passenger and freight travel. Employing a small number of high-skilled Terminal Operators, Valero East Midlands Airport Terminal ensures fuel security to customers and travellers on short- and long-haul flights out of the airport near Castle Donington.
Since 2020 Valero has donated funds to support the local charity’s lifesaving missions, bringing their incredible total to £12,000 – helping to ensure the charity can continue their vital missions across Derbyshire and further afield.
“This donation is a way for Valero to say, ‘thank you’ to everyone at the charity for their incredible work, which continues to support people both in the air and on the ground, ensuring they receive pre-hospital critical care when they need it most,” said Tim Smith, Valero’s Regional Operations Manager.
“We are proud to continue to support this inspirational charity and their work in our community,” he added.
Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each lifesaving mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
Tracey Jones, Community Fundraising Executive for Derbyshire said:
“We would like to thank Valero for their incredible support over the last four years and for helping us to keep saving lives across Derbyshire and further afield.”
“We receive no government or National Lottery funding so rely entirely on the support from local businesses and the community, just like Valero to keep our crews available 24/7, 365 days a year,” she expressed.
