Derbyshire golf club raise funds to support lifesaving charity for second year running
Alfreton Golf Club have raised funds for the second year running to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
Every year, both the Club Captain and Ladies Captain at the Golf Club choose a charity of the year, and for both 2022 to 2023 and 2023 to 2024, Philip Taylor chose to support the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance – helping to raise vital funds to keep the charity saving lives.
The Golf Club has a 10-hole course and is located in beautiful parkland adjacent to Oakerthorpe Wood – offering not only superb views across the local countryside but also a well-kept and challenging layout that can be appreciated by all levels of golfer.
“Having supported the charity in previous years we are delighted to of raised a further £2,700 from various fundraising activities again,” said Philip Taylor, Alfreton Golf Club Captain.
“A big thank you must also go to our members for their support and generosity yet again for this lifesaving charity and we wouldn’t have been able to reach this total without your support. We will be supporting the charity again next year and can’t wait to see how much we can raise,” he added.
Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital critical care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
Community Fundraising Executive for Derbyshire, Tracey Jones said:
“We would like to say a big thank you to Philip Taylor for choosing to our charity again and to everyone at Alfreton Golf Club for their support and vital funds they have raised to keep our helicopters flying.”
“The charity relies on generous donations from the local community and businesses to keep the lifesaving missions possible in Derbyshire and further afield,” she expressed.
