Derbyshire charity boutique celebrates funding more than 800 lifesaving missions
Your local air ambulance charity boutique store in Bakewell is celebrating funding more than 800 lifesaving missions for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
The charity store opened its doors on 06 June 2011 in Bakewell, Derbyshire, an area known for its Bakewell puddings. Over the past thirteen years the boutique store has generated an amazing £1,542,009.50, funding more than 800 lifesaving missions.
The store has also received 35,758 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.
Within minutes, DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.
Assistant Store Manager Jayne Hallows said: “We would like to thank everyone in the local community for their amazing support over the past thirteen years and for the phenomenal amount they have helped our store to raise.”
“Without this support we wouldn’t be able to continue our lifesaving missions providing emergency pre-hospital care to those who need it most,” she added.
