Derbyshire Caravan Park raises vital funds to support local lifesaving charity

Pinegroves Caravan Park in Derbyshire have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).

The caravan holiday destination, Pinegroves Country Park in Derbyshire is where locals and travellers alike can enjoy the site as a scenic place to stay and feel at home while they are able to explore the tranquil woodlands areas around Matlock. There are many local attractions in the surrounding area including, Chatsworth House, Riber Castle, Crich Tramway Museum and many more.

Pinegroves Caravan Park held a community fundraising event at their site including entertainment from Lee Aaron King and the Diamonettes and Emily, a talented local singer, as well as a tombola, cake sale, raffle and even an ice cream and hot dog stand – raising an amazing £1,801.54 to support the charity’s lifesaving missions in Derbyshire and further afield.

“We would like to thank everyone who contributed towards our amazing total of £1,801.54 raised to support the deserving Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance,” said Amanda Camp, Manager at Pinegroves Caravan Park.

“We will be making this an annual event to support the local charity and can’t wait to raise further funds to keep their lifesaving missions possible,” she added.

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crews deliver critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, medical emergencies – such as cardiac arrest and accidents at home – and other incidents needing expert pre-hospital medical interventions.

They receive no government or National Lottery funding for their lifesaving missions and rely on the local community and businesses to help them raise the much needed £2,300 for each mission.

Tracey Jones, Community Fundraising Executive for Derbyshire said:

“On behalf of the charity I would like to say thank you to everyone involved with the Pinegroves Caravan Park for raising vital funds to keep our helicopters flying.”

“We rely on support just like this to raise the much-needed funds for each lifesaving mission and wouldn’t be able to do it without the local community and businesses,” she expressed.
