Derbyshire annual tractor road run raises more than £2,000 to support lifesaving charity
Mr Blobby’s annual charity tractor road run and fun day has raised more than £2,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA).
On 25 May 2024 Tom Titterton, Paul Carter and Katie White held the Mr Blobby’s annual charity tractor road run and fun day, including a raffle and bake sale at The Railway Inn, Shottle, Derbyshire to raise funds to support the lifesaving charity.
The event was held in memory of Tom and Paul’s friend, John Allen who was nicknamed Blobby.
A huge thirty-eight tractors, both old and new turned up to take part in the 19-mile ride around the Derbyshire countryside and Katie and her family sold raffle tickets, balloons, cakes and cookies, with a massive seventy prizes up for grabs on the raffle, including a generous £50 voucher donated from The Railway Inn, Shottle.
The event made an amazing £2,400.43 to support the charity’s lifesaving missions in Derbyshire and further afield.
“We would like to thank everyone who attended our annual charity event this year – to all the tractor owners who took part and stayed later to allow the public to view the tractors, as well as a special thanks to The Railway Inn, Shottle who let us hold our event there and very generously donated a raffle price and bouncy castle for the day,” said Katie White.
“We are incredibly proud to have raised enough funds to support the charity with another lifesaving mission and this wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s help and support on the day,” she added.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crew are available 24/7, 365 days per year, providing lifesaving pre-hospital care to those who need it the most. The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding and relies solely on generous donations from its supporters to fund its vital missions – without this they wouldn’t be able to continue their lifesaving missions across Derbyshire and further afield.
Tracey Jones, Community Fundraising Executive for Derbyshire said:
“We would like to say a big thank you to Tom, Paul and Katie and everyone who attended their fundraising event to raise vital funds to support our charity.”
“We wouldn’t be able to continue our lifesaving missions without the support from the local community and businesses, and with one mission costing £2,300, every penny they have raised will help us to save more lives in Derbyshire and further afield,” she expressed.
