Daventry Golf Club raises vital funds to support local lifesaving charity

Daventry & District Golf Club and Northamptonshire Golf Ltd have raised vital funds to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

Daventry & District Golf Club was established in 1907 and is situated on the historic site of Borough Hill on the eastern edge of Daventry, offering stunning views over the Northamptonshire countryside.

The 9-hole parkland course covers 42 acres and utilises 18 different tee positions to create a challenging 18-hole golfing experience.

In 2024 the Ladies Captain, Sara Harper chose to support the local charity and held a Ladies Open on 11 July 2024 with a raffle and donations being collected, as well as a Ladies Golf Competition held at Daventry & District Golf Club on behalf of NG Ltd. They raised a total of £1,100 – helping to keep the charity saving lives.

“Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise £1,100 to support the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance,” said Sara Harper.

“The crews are able to reach an incident quickly, no matter how rural the location. We often see them flying over the golf course and we always thank them for all that they do.

“Everyone at Daventry & District Golf Club are very proud to have raised vital funds to support this worthy charity – every penny supports further lifesaving missions,” she added.

Within minutes, WNAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each lifesaving mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding.

Karen Hughes, Community Fundraising Executive for Northamptonshire said:

“We would like to say thank you to Sara and everyone at the Golf Club for helping to raise another vital amount to support further lifesaving missions in Northamptonshire and further afield.”

“We rely on support from the local community and businesses just like this to raise the vital funds to keep our helicopters flying,” she expressed.
