Coventry business raises £7,000 to support charity’s lifesaving missions

UKBIC (UK Battery Industrialisation Centre) have raised £7,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

UKBIC (UK Battery Industrialisation Centre) based in Coventry is key in supporting the UK’s development of battery technology and developing skills for the transition to a greener future, supporting the wider national electrification agenda.

The UKBIC employees raising the funds are the company’s Positive Energy Charity Group and have so far raised an amazing £7,000 through bake sales, collection boxes, a charity quiz and have taken part in a Wolf Run.

“I was amazed to hear first-hand about the great work the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance carries out in Coventry and further afield and I am delighted that we have raised vital funds to support their future lifesaving missions,” said Mark Blundell, Inbound Logistics Lead and Positive Energy Charity Group Lead.

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance crew are available 24/7, 365 days per year, providing lifesaving pre-hospital care to those who need it the most. The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding and relies solely on generous donations from its supporters to fund its vital missions – without this they wouldn’t be able to continue their lifesaving missions across Warwickshire and further afield.

Sally Newman, Community Fundraising Executive for Warwickshire, said: “On behalf of the charity I would like to say thank you to everyone involved at UKBIC who helped to raise an amazing £7,000 to support our charity.”

“Without the dedicated support from the local community and businesses just like this, we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide our pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most,” she added.
