Chilly Willy Ride Out raises record-breaking amount for Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance

Last Sunday, over 800 bikers and scooters left the All Seasons Café at Billing Garden Centre in Northampton to embark on a 48-mile ride out to raise money for our Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

The gang headed out on a figure of eight route which took them down to the outskirts of Bedford, through Olney, then back up to Northamptonshire – before a straight run back down the A45 returning to the All Seasons Café.

It was an overwhelming sight to see so many bikers who, year on year, band together to raise vital funds for our charity. This year’s ride out was even more special as it was in memory of organiser Rich Moore who passed away very suddenly at the beginning of last year – a minute of applause was held to remember him.

Volunteers for WNAA Heather Burton and Richard Durham have supported and attended these events for the last seven years – they were joined this time by other WNAA volunteers, Lynn and Gemma, along with two volunteers from Northampton Biking Community.

Heather and Richard said:

“We are overwhelmed by the fantastic amount raised and received on behalf of the charity. Over the last seven years the Chilly Willy Ride Out has raised over £15,000 for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance – an incredible amount!.”

“We would like to say a special thanks to the Northampton Biker Community, as well as to this year’s organiser Nick Ingram, all the Marshalls en-route, and the staff from the All Seasons Café.”
