Initially diagnosed with croup, his condition worsened, and he was rushed to hospital where doctors worked to stabilise him as his breathing became increasingly critical.<\/p>\n<p>Despite treatment, Jayden\u2019s condition didn\u2019t improve, and he was sedated, intubated, and placed on a ventilator. With no Paediatric Intensive Care Unit available locally, he urgently needed transferring to Leeds for specialist treatment.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when the National Children\u2019s Air Ambulance was called, transferring Jayden and cutting what could have been a 90 minute journey down to just 25 minutes. We flew Jayden alongside his mum and a specialist clinical team, ensuring he continued to receive the care he needed as throughout transit.<\/p>\n<p>After two days in intensive care, Jayden improved enough to return to his local hospital, and soon after, he was able to go home.
