Grand Opening Set for Children’s Air Ambulance Superstore

The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) will open the doors to our new, flagship superstore and Café in Doncaster next month and people are invited to attend to experience a unique way of shopping while supporting the lifesaving charity.

Ambitious plans to transform a former kitchen showroom into a superstore, which will raise vital funds for the service, were unveiled in July and now doors to the Thorne Road Retail Park unit on Ogden Road will open at 10.30am on Tuesday 22 October.

TCAA New Shops Development Manager Kerry Martin said: “We’re currently in the middle of a 12-week shop fit but we can clearly see our vision for this unique superstore taking shape and we’re excited about welcoming our first customers next month.

“Customers will love the thrill of not knowing what they will find when they walk through our doors and we want to make that experience last longer by offering a wider choice, a fantastic and friendly environment, and by launching our own branded café.”

The unit has undergone a significant transformation in turning the 9,000 sq. ft. space into The Hanger superstore selling both new and pre-loved homeware, furniture, clothing, electricals, living and brand new white goods.

Plans also feature a café known as the Landing Pad where customers and families can take a break from browsing or a well-earned rest after securing a bargain.

And South Yorkshire celebrity Paul Elliott, who is an ambassador for the charity, is scheduled to officially open the store.

“The success of the store is vital as TCAA receives no government funding and relies solely on donations from the public,” explained Paul.

“I’m sure the people of Doncaster and South Yorkshire will get behind this lifesaving charity by supporting this wonderful new superstore and I look forward to meeting people next month.”

We currently operate 56 shops around the country and this latest venture is our second superstore. It will create 21 new jobs as well as many volunteering opportunities. People interested in helping should email [email protected] or call 0300 3045 999 and specify Doncaster Superstore as the location for volunteering.

We have also already opened a donation station at the store to make it easy and quick for people to drop off donations and offer Free Furniture donation collections – to organise this, please ring: 07502 227 805.
