Chatsworth Golfers Swing into Action to Support Local Air Ambulance
Members of Chatsworth Golf Club really got into the swing of fundraising for the local air ambulance.
Club captains Andrew Lloyd and Annie McClimont have presented a cheque for £5,890 to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) after organising a series of events ranging from a raffle to a charity golf day and auction.
Andrew says: “We chose DLRAA as our charity because they have been instrumental in saving at least two members’ lives in the past. Whilst we hope of course that we will not need them in the future, we want to support a service that will always be there in emergency”.
DLRAA relies totally on public donations to remain operational, with each mission attended costing £1,700.
The charity’s Community Fundraising Executive Lee Bunting thanked everyone at Chatsworth Golf Club for their support.
“When I first met with Andrew and Annie at the beginning of the year, their admiration for the work the air ambulance does was obvious to see. They have been very passionate about raising funds for us and we are so grateful for such an amazing donation,” he says.
