Corby steel company give local air ambulance a £5K lift!

Tata Steel workers have donated an amazing £5,000 of the Corby Employee Benevolent Fund to their local Air Ambulance, WNAA – to help us save lives!

The Corby Employee Benevolent Scheme, now wound up, was a scheme employees would contribute into from their wages, so that if another colleague was going through a hard time or illness then there would be funds available to help when needed.

Due to the support employees now receive from the company this scheme is no longer a necessity and the money was able to be donated to a charity of choice.

Northamptonshire Community Fundraising Executive, Stacey Randall commented: “We are extremely grateful to Tata Steel for their generosity towards our lifesaving charity.

“As a charity which receives no government funding, donations big or small are vital and we can’t thank the staff at Tata Steel enough for their amazing donation!”

Every mission costs approximately £1,700 and on average we attend six rescue missions a day.
