ART GROUP EVENT TO THANK LOCAL AIR AMBULANCE

The organiser of the Art Miscellany U3A group in Nantwich staged an event which raised £270 for the local air ambulance that she believes saved her son-in-law’s life.

Doreen Crombs says: “I wanted to show how grateful I am to Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance for Dave, his life and that of my daughter and my grand and great grandchildren. Their invaluable work cannot be overestimated.”

Part-time supply teacher Dave Farmer, from Crewe, sustained multiple injuries when he was involved in a road traffic collision in a remote location in the Peak District three years ago.

After being pulled out of his burning car, he was stabilized by the air ambulance crew before being flown to hospital where – within an hour – he was receiving the lifesaving medical care he urgently needed.

Our helicopter can fly at speeds of up to 185mph – meaning that distances can be travelled about four times faster than by road.
